Though only a first-generation family business, we have a lifetime of experience learning about the art of woodworking. Our lead carpenter Michael Christensen has learned from many woodworking masters throughout his life, but is mostly self-taught. We strongly believe in the benefits of self education, as each little mistake along the way results in a greater understanding of the craft. Through much trial and error, we have honed our talents in carpentry. When it comes to creating a product, we are detailed, meticulous, and incredibly thorough. We take great pride in our work and settle for nothing less than perfection.
We are Michael and Mairead Christensen, owners of Stillwater Joinery LLC! We started our family and business in Roslyn, Washington in 2024. The little town of Roslyn has a rustic charm that certainly served as an inspiration for us to start our business. Full of houses and furniture built in the early 20th century, we developed a deep appreciation for handmade wood products. The amount of dedication and detail that goes into fine carpentry is truly intriguing. We are both artists at heart and find joy channeling our soul into our creations.
We love working with wood because of its innate personality. Each cut of wood is unique and beautiful in its own way. We enjoy seeing what each slab can become. Whether its a simple coffee table or a chess board, every single creation is distinct.
